Yangon Regional Tax Reform Workshop – October 13th, 2016

Yangon Regional Tax Reform Workshop

The Renaissance Institute and Professor Bob Conrad led a tax and public financial management workshop with members of the Yangon region government. The workshop featured two parts: A discussion of the role of subnational governments in Myanmar’s broader tax reform and fiscal decentralization agenda, and a subsequent discussion session.

Members of both the executive branch and legislature attended the session. It was an opportunity to bring together actors and seek feedback on the region’s ideas for reform. It is another step in Renaissance’s continued work to empower subnational government’s by building capacity and providing analytical support to shape their strategy and assist their strategy implementation efforts.
